About the program –– Food Action
Food holds body and soul together. It is the biggest single cause of health – or ill health. Food is also the biggest single cause of climate change. One third of the food produced for humans is never actually eaten, but thrown away. At the same time, some 795 million people in the world do not have enough food to lead a healthy active life. More than half of the world's hungry people are farmers or farm workers.
The FAct! Program provides support for individuals and households interested in exploring health and environment aspects of their eating habits, and willing to learn what they can do about it – in German, Hungarian, Italian and Spanish as well as English. This is an invitation to take experimental action for healthy and sustainable food habits.
This is how it works:
- The self-learning workbook proposes easy action steps. It contains action recipes, food recipes, and supporting material for each of the three topics Food & Waste, Food, Climate & Environment and Food & Health. Via before-and-after surveys, you can track your progress.
- The online library contains further information if you want to do your own research.
Read more here on how to engage in Food Action, set up your own FAct! program and contribute to the online library.
Time to get your FAct together!
